After Infinity Gauntlet, comes Infinity War:
Vol. 64 - Infinity War (optional)
[Unlike Infinity Gauntlet, this event includes the X-Men (although in mostly background roles). Also, it features dozens of tie-ins. Most of the tie-ins are not included as they add little to nothing to the main narrative. Some tie-ins, although quite irrelevant, are fun to read, those I included as optional. Then there are some tie-ins which actually expand on the main story. Most of the tie-ins do not fit perfectly between the issues of the main books, and there is a lot of overlapping between issues, so this is one of those events that have a lot of issue splicing.
Regarding the prelude, it includes the formation of the Infinity Watch, which is the mandatory bridge between Infinity Gauntlet and Infinity War.]
